How to Watch Bayern Munich in the US in 2026-27

Following Bayern Munich from the United States means tracking three competitions across three different rights holders. The good news is that the Bundesliga half got dramatically cheaper this season — most league matches are now free. The Champions League and the German cup are separate problems.

Here is the complete setup.

The three competitions, three homes

CompetitionUS homeCost
BundesligaUSA Network (30+ matches) and Fandango (free, ~270) in English; Telemundo, Universo and Peacock in SpanishFree to $34.99+/month
UEFA Champions LeagueParamount+, with select matches on CBS and CBS Sports Network$8.99/month and up
DFB-PokalA separate rights package, historically on ESPN platformsCheck current listings

Bundesliga: the part that got easier

Bayern's league matches moved to an entirely new American home this season. Versant's USA Sports holds exclusive English-language rights under a five-year, roughly $100 million deal running through 2030-31.

A minimum of 30 matches a season air on USA Network — and as the league's biggest draw, Bayern features heavily in that marquee slate. Saturday matches typically land at 12:30 p.m. ET.

Everything else streams free on Fandango. Roughly 270 to 275 matches a season, with no subscription, no login, and no registration. When Bayern is not in the USA Network window, this is where you will find them.

Every match is on Peacock in Spanish, along with 100-plus matches on Telemundo and Universo under NBCUniversal's three-year Spanish-language deal.

ESPN, which carried the Bundesliga for six seasons, no longer has any league matches.

Getting USA Network

ProviderApproximate monthly cost
DirecTV MyEntertainment$34.99
Sling Blue$45.99
YouTube TV$82.99
Hulu + Live TV$89.99

Fubo dropped USA Network in a December 2025 carriage dispute and, as of mid-2026 reporting, had not restored it — verify before subscribing for that reason.

Champions League: Paramount+

CBS Sports holds exclusive English-language US rights to the Champions League, which means Paramount+ carries every match, with selected marquee fixtures simulcast on CBS and CBS Sports Network.

Paramount+ costs $8.99 a month ($89.99 annually) on the Essential tier or $13.99 ($139.99 annually) on Premium. Both carry live matches; Premium adds an ad-free on-demand library and a live local CBS stream.

Spanish-language Champions League coverage runs through TUDN, Univision, and ViX. Univision is a free over-the-air broadcast network, so a portion of that coverage costs nothing beyond an antenna.

For a Bayern supporter, this is the subscription most likely to be worth its price — the club is a fixture in the latter stages of the competition, and Paramount+ carries the entire tournament rather than a share of it.

DFB-Pokal: check before you assume

The German cup is sold separately from the Bundesliga's league rights and was not part of either the Versant or Telemundo agreements. It has been carried across ESPN's platforms. Because Bayern's cup run is typically only a handful of matches a season, it is rarely worth a subscription on its own — check current listings when the draw is made.

European football is a daytime sport in America — one of the genuine pleasures of following a German club from the US is that the whole matchday is done before dinner.

Bandwidth and setup

Both Fandango and Paramount+ run over your broadband. Budget 10-15 Mbps for stable HD and 25 Mbps or more for best quality with other devices active. Champions League nights concentrate traffic across many households simultaneously, so headroom matters more then than on a Saturday morning.

Run wired Ethernet to your main streaming device if the layout of your home allows — it is the single most effective fix for buffering. If your internet plan has not been reviewed in several years, comparing fiber and fixed-wireless provider tiers for your address is usually worth more than any hardware upgrade.
